What is BotBabe Hub?

BotBabe Hub is your all-in-one AI assistant dashboard. It gives you access to 20 specialized bots — each trained for a specific business task like writing scripts, planning content, building email flows, designing ads, and more. Think of it as your personal team of AI experts.

What is an API key and how do I get one?

An API key is like a password that connects BotBabe Hub to the AI models. You get one from OpenRouter.ai — create a free account, go to your Keys page, and generate a new key. Copy it and paste it into the Settings here. OpenRouter gives you access to all the top AI models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and more) through a single key.

Does this cost money?

BotBabe Hub itself is free. However, the AI models you chat with are pay-per-use through OpenRouter. Costs vary by model — budget-friendly models like Gemini Flash and DeepSeek cost fractions of a penny per message, while premium models like Claude and GPT-5.4 Pro cost a bit more. You can check your usage at openrouter.ai/credits.

Which AI model should I pick?

Claude Sonnet 4.6 — Best all-rounder. Great writing quality, follows instructions well.
GPT-5.4 Pro — Strong reasoning and creative writing.
GPT-4o — Fast and reliable for quick tasks.
Gemini 2.5 Flash — Fastest and cheapest. Great for simple tasks.
Gemini 2.5 Pro — Google's premium model with strong analysis.
DeepSeek V3.2 — Very affordable with solid quality.

Can the bots generate images?

The bots can't generate images directly in the chat. However, bots like Doodle Designer and BrandTwin Prompter will write detailed, ready-to-paste prompts that you can copy into your favorite AI image tool (DALL·E, Midjourney, Leonardo AI, FLUX, etc.) to generate the image.

Why am I getting an error?

Common fixes:
• Invalid API key — Double-check your key in Settings. Make sure there are no extra spaces.
• Insufficient credits — Add credits at openrouter.ai/credits.
• Model unavailable — Try switching to a different model from the dropdown.
• Rate limited — Wait a moment and try again.

Is my API key stored safely?

Your API key is stored locally in your browser only — it never leaves your device or gets sent to any server except OpenRouter when you send a message. BotBabe Hub has no backend, no database, and no tracking. Everything runs in your browser.

Can I use this on my phone and computer?

Yes — both! BotBabe Hub works on any device with a web browser (phone, tablet, laptop, desktop). It's fully responsive so the layout adapts to your screen. Same URL, same API key, works everywhere. Tip: on your phone, add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.

Note about chat history: Your conversations, brand profile, and settings are saved in your browser's local storage. This means your phone and computer have separate histories — they don't sync between devices. Think of each device as its own workspace. We're exploring cloud sync for a future update!

Do I still need a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro subscription?

For using BotBabe Hub's 20 specialized bots — no, you don't need any subscriptions. Your OpenRouter pay-per-use credits cover all the AI models here, and it's very affordable. However, if you use AI tools for other things outside of BotBabe Hub (general chat, research, writing, etc.), then a subscription to ChatGPT or Claude might still be worth it for that separate usage. Think of it this way: BotBabe Hub replaces the need for a subscription for these specific business tools, but it doesn't replace those platforms entirely if you use them for other day-to-day tasks.

How do I change my API key?

Click the ⚙️ Settings button on the dashboard to update your API key at any time.

I have a ton of context in ChatGPT. Can I bring it over?

Yes! Each bot has a 📝 Context button in the chat header. Click it, then use the built-in prompt to ask your old AI to summarize everything it knows about you. Copy that summary and paste it into the Context Notes. The bot will reference it in every conversation — like it already knows you.
